Along with the COVID-19 pandemic, the country is also currently grappling with the flooding situation. The floods in Bihar have affected as many as 38,47,531 people across the state and more than 25,000 people have taken to shelter homes. The calamity has disrupted the normalcy in the state and several National Disaster Response Force are being deployed to assist people in such a tough period.

Bihar, as well as Assam, have been severely affected since the past few days, with many people being forced to displace themselves and take shelter in relief camps. The situation in Assam has marginally improved but Bihar is still battling against the calamity as many rivers have crossed their danger levels.

Amid this stern situation, the Mother Teresa Foundation has stepped up to aid in the battle against the calamity. The foundation has also been asking many prominent faces including Bollywood stars and cricket players to help him and join the noble cause.

Irfan donates 60 packets of ration to Bihar’s flood-affected people

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan, so far, has been the only cricketer to respond and extend helping hand, confirmed Yahya Rahmani, a part of the Mother Teresa Foundation which has been actively involved in organizing Flood Donation Drive across Bihar.

“Irfan donated ration to 60 families of Bihar’s flood-affected people. The packet consisted of essential items like Chana, Chura, Daal, Oil, Dettol, and Rice,” Rahmani told CricTracker. The foundation is trying to reach out to other individuals too but they’re still awaiting a response.

This is not the first time when Irfan has stepped up to help the needy. A couple of months ago, Irfan and Yusuf Pathan had also distributed 10000 kg rice and 700 kg potato in hometown Baroda among poor people who were suffering from hunger due to nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. Along with ration, the Pathan brothers had also actively distributed face masks, food packets, and Vitamin C tablets to aid in the battle against coronavirus pandemic.
