Delhi Police holds foot marches, appeals for crowds to disperse

Satish Golcha, Special Commissioner of Police (Crime), Delhi, said, “We’are trying to maintain law and order. We’ve been requesting everyone to come forward to support Delhi Police in maintaining law and order. Our officers are holding foot marches and appealing gatherings to peacefully disperse.”

Schools to remain shut in northeast Delhi

Manish Sisodia on Monday announced private and public schools in the northeast district will remain shut in light of the violence that erupted during CAA protests. Sisodia also said that he had spoken to HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, asking him to postpone board examinations for schools in the district.

Constable’s killing is ploy to embarrass India: Meenakshi Lekhi

BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi, in a tweet, condoled the death of constable Ratan Lal in the violence that erupted during CAA protests on Monday and said that the “killing” was a “ploy to embarass India”.

She said, “Shocked to hear the death of HC Sh Ratanlal in a brutal and barbaric manner. This reminds me of massacre of Sikhs in Chattisinghpura during Clinton’s visit. Incidents change but anti-India forces remain the same. Ploy to embarrass India, request all to remain calm and maintain peace”.
